These two photographs were taken on the Southbank, London within a short walking distance of each other.
Perspectives was a photography exhibition by Tom Stoddart that was on display for the duration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London in the summer of 2012.
In the photo of the Shard next to the tower of Southwark Cathedral, I like the fact that though the Shard generally dominates the London skyline, from this angle the perspective changes and the two buildings appear to be almost equal in height. Also there is the sharp juxtaposition of the old and the new.
