This is a photo of the low autumn sun on some old tree roots at Quarry Mill Bank, Styal. I was getting into instagram at the time and this photo ended up being passed through the filters several times, thus it ends up being quite different from the original.
The sun comes through more strongly on the filtered photograph (it looks comparatively weak on the original). Even though the sun is less strong in the autumn and winter months, and looks so, but it is by no means weak. And the rays would have looked entirely different in summer months.
I like the strength and depth of colour in the filtered photograph. Whatever critics might say about instagram 'airbrushing' reality in this case I think the original view has been changed and enhanced.
